Your information

Privacy policy

This policy explains how Pathzi collects, uses, shares and protects personal information when you use the Pathzi mobile application, website and related services.

Last updated 2 October 2026

Pathzi is a career discovery service. We use the information you provide to operate your account, show relevant career and education pathways and remember the choices you make. We only share your contact details with a college, university, training provider, apprenticeship provider or employer when you actively ask to connect and give permission.

1. Who is responsible for your information

Pathzi is the controller of the personal information described in this policy. References to “Pathzi”, “we”, “us” or “our” mean the developer and operator of the Pathzi app, package name com.pathzi.app.

For privacy questions or requests, email hello@pathzi.co.uk.

2. Information we collect

Depending on the features you use, we may collect:

Pathzi does not need precise GPS location, your contacts, photographs, microphone recordings, health information or payment-card details for its core career-discovery service. If a future feature needs additional information, we will explain this before collecting it and request permission where required.

3. How we use information

We use personal information to:

4. Our legal bases

Under UK data-protection law, we process information where it is necessary to provide the service you request, where we have a legitimate interest in operating and securing Pathzi that is not overridden by your rights, where you have given consent, or where we must comply with law. You may withdraw consent at any time. Withdrawal does not affect processing that was lawful before withdrawal.

5. When we share information

We may share information with:

We do not sell personal information for unrelated advertising and we do not use children’s personal information for targeted advertising.

6. Children and young people

Pathzi is designed to help young people from age 14, as well as adults. It is not intended for children under 13. We apply a high level of privacy by default for users under 18, collect only information needed for career and education discovery, and do not enable public profiles. We use general location rather than precise location for pathway matching.

If we learn that an account belongs to a child under 13, we will delete it unless there is a lawful reason and appropriate authorisation to retain it. A parent or guardian who has a concern can contact us using the address above, although young people also have their own data-protection rights.

7. International transfers

Some technology providers may process information outside the United Kingdom. Where this happens, we use an approved legal safeguard, such as UK adequacy regulations or contractual protections, and take steps to protect the information.

8. Security

We use appropriate technical and organisational safeguards. These include encrypted connections, restricted access, secure authentication, access logging and measures intended to protect stored personal information. No internet service can guarantee absolute security.

9. How long we keep information

We keep account and profile information while your account is active and only for as long as needed to provide Pathzi. When an account is deleted, we remove or irreversibly anonymise associated personal information from active systems, normally within 30 days. Residual copies in protected backups may remain for up to 90 days before automatic deletion.

We may retain limited records for longer where necessary to meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent fraud or demonstrate that valid consent was obtained. Information already sent to a provider at your request is also handled under that provider’s privacy policy; you can ask both the provider and Pathzi to delete it.

10. Your rights

Subject to data-protection law, you may ask us for access to your information, correction, deletion, restriction, portability or an objection to certain processing. You may also withdraw consent and complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.

To exercise a right, email hello@pathzi.co.uk.

11. Deleting your Pathzi account

You can request deletion from the account or settings area in the app. You can also use our public account-deletion page or email us. Deleting the app from your device does not itself delete your account.

12. Other websites and services

Pathzi may link to careers services, education providers, employers, application websites and a Google-hosted early-access form. Those services operate under their own privacy policies. We encourage you to read them before providing information.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when Pathzi’s features or legal obligations change. We will post the updated version here, change the date above and provide an additional notice where a change materially affects users.
